Young, Loud, and Snotty: Peaty Whisky Under 10 Yrs Old

The whisky world worships maturity, with age statements of even basic expressions pushing higher and higher all of the time. But in the last couple of years, connoisseurs have been rediscovering the joys of younger, more sprightly drams. Whisky producers, from independent bottlers to the distilling giants, have been releasing expressions with single digit ages. Nowhere does this new cult of youth show better than with peaty whiskies. We’ve gathered together seven bottles, from a barely legal three year old, to a nearly respectable nine, to find out just how good young peaty whisky can be.
