It undergoes maturation in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The “Parliament” name refers to a group of rooks that live near the distillery. Let’s go with an old friend, Macallan 18-Year-Old should be on Mt Rushmore! I’ve poured M18 many times, although I’ve noticed its current $350+ pricing. It’s special. And talk about old friends, Oban 18-Year-Old and Talisker 18-Year-Old are popular calls at every legitimate whisky bar globally.

Have you noticed that Bunnahabhain has the knack for coming up with some outstanding and unique special releases? Its 2023 Feis Ile release is Coterie Exclusive – Rioja Cask Finish, a 55.8% ABV cask strength beauty. It was initially matured in bourbon barrels of charred American white oak and then finished in excellent Spanish red wine casks. Now for the big send-off, we are onto Lagavulin Distiller’s Edition which was double matured in bourbon and PX sherry casks of toasted American white oak.
