lan Palmer, Founder & Chairman Inch Dairnie Distillery. It is a great honor to welcome “Ian Palmer, Distillery Legend” to MASC!

I’ve been aware of lan Palmer and his contributions to the Scotch whisky industry for many years. In particular, the state-of-the-art systems and equipment that he designed and implemented at Starlaw Grain Distillery and took to the next level at InchDairnie. So, I was delighted to learn from Scott Fraser, the Group’s North American executive, that lan was coming to town= and available to present his whisky to MASC.

IAN PALMER, FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN: Inch Dairnie Distillery is the brainchild of lan Palmer who had a vision of building a distillery with equipment that is modern and innovative, and capable of reaching flavors not normally accessible. lan designed the distillery together with the construction company Colorado Group and even designed the Lomond Hill still, used for precision distilling. With over 40 years of experience in the whisky industry, lan has been  integral to the process of converting a green field site to a distillery of its time and has been key to the flavor research and development in the different whiskies engineered and distilled at InchDairnie Distillery. lan has worked as Ops Manager at Invergordon Distillery and Group Distilling Manager for all the distilleries in the Whyte & Mackay portfolio including Dalmore, Jura, Bruichladdich, Fettercairn and Tamnavulin. lan is also responsible for building Starlaw grain distillery for French group La Martiniquaise.

We will have plenty of food, so you won’t be looking for dinner before or after our event. So, do join us and bring a friend, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.”
