“Right Launching 2026” I selected 3 bottles that I brought back from Scotland to kick off our 2026 tasting year. We’ll start with a dram born on the eastern bank of River Findhorn: Benromach Traditional is a tasty apéritif style single malt, the perfect first whisky. Moving over to the Flow on the Isle of Orkney, Scapa Glansa is an interest ‘tween’ dram aged in Bourbon casks and then finished in smaller cask of an Islay origin. Back across the Pentland Firth to Thurso on the northern coast of Scotland, let’s try Wolfburn Morven, a lightly peated single malt. Moving to the outskirtsof Glasgow, you will enjoy the Auchentoshan Silver Oak, a 1990 vintage 23 Year at 50.7% ABV batch strength. Raj and I really enjoyed it! You ask: But what’s going on in Campbeltown? Springbank offers an ‘Infinity Barrel’ on a fill-your-own-bottle basis. I promptly filled our 58.91% ABV bottle. Now for a big finish: the Lagavulin 12-Year Special Release of 2024 aka Fireside Tales. It’s at 57.4% ABV.
