Scotchtoberfest

Heavenly Hostess Phyllis Smith has invited us to have our October tasting event at her lovely home in Roswell. Such a venue requires an equally great tasting menu. Let’s start with a 20-year highlander: Glencadam 1990, a 43% ABV Gordon & MacPhail bottling. The legendary Glenburgie is the key-malt in the best blended Scotch brand: Ballantine’s. Again, from Gordon & MacPhail, we will taste Glenburgie 10-year aged in sherry casks and bottled at 43% ABV.

Our middle drams consist of a bourbon barrel aged Glenallachie 18- year and the bourbon aged and sherry finished Bunnahabhain 12-year, both at 46% ABV. I’ve paired our final two elixirs: Springbank 18-year at 46% ABV and Bowmore Dorus Mor, a cask strength 54.9% ABV aged in fresh bourbon barrels.
