If you still have room on your 2023 resolution list\, put buy a bottle of Glen Grant on it. Aultmore Distillery is a gem owned by Bacardi Ltd. \nThe locals have nicknamed it “Old Foggy Moss” as the road to the distillery seems to always beset by fog. Aultmore 12 is bottled at 46% ABV without chillfiltration and is recommended. Have you ever tried a cask strength Balblair? Balblair 2006 vintage is a 12-year-old single cask at cask strength 55.2% ABV. In 2017\, The Balvenie released Peated Triple Cask as a global travel retail exclusive. \nIt is a 14-year-old that was bottled at a hearty 48.3% ABV after maturation in a combination of bourbon first-fill\, bourbon refill\, and oloroso sherry casks. But here is the interesting point: it is the first Balvenie ever released based on 100% peated malted barley. Its ppm is 30 which is similar to that of Bowmore. My fave Laphroaig core expression is Quarter Cask! Bottled at 48% ABV\, Laphroaig Quarter Cask is pretty much perfect. It’s non-chillfiltered and no coloration added. We’re going to finish on a high note: Port Charlotte Scottish Barley is 40-ppm marvel bottled at an interesting 50% ABV. It will be fun comparing the Quarter Cask to the Port Charlotte\, so do not miss this one. In summary\, the only thing missing is the presence of your good company. Kilkerran single malt is the excellent whisky made at Glengyle Distillery (1872-1925; resurrected by Hedley Wright\, the great-great nephew of William Mitchell\, the original owner-operator). Deanston 18-yr is an official bottling bought at the distillery in 2019. Macleod’s is the single malt range bottled by Ian Macleod Distillers; let’s try its Islay edition. Eagle Rare is a lovely 10-yr bourbon from Buffalo Trace. \nNext\, the last bottle of the 12-year edition of Elijah Craig bourbon.  Its current bottling is a no-age-statement version.  High West Yippee-Ki-Yay is a blend of straight ryes. It’s a multi-award winner. \nKender Roman\, R&F Continental Dominican Cigar\, recommended his Golden Edition cigar. You will receive 3 of them! The event was so warmly received that we’re repeating it with 6 good Bourbons\, 3 GTO Dominican cigars and full Greek dinner. \nElmer T. Lee\, a highly-sought bourbon\, will lead-off our tasting (thanks to Harry @ Juice Box shop). This Texan will pour next 2 Texas Bourbons: Sixth Street 4 yr and Garrison Bros. single barrel. Let’s then taste Old Forester’s straight rye\, a delicious 100-proofer. The featured dram is the new Old Ezra Bourbon\, at 7year and 117 barrel-proof\, a sourced offering from the Lux Row Distillery in Bardstown. Our final whisky is Wild Turkey’s Rare Breed\, a combo of 6-\, 8- and 12-year-old bourbons that’s bottled at 116.8 barrel-proof. I’ve invited GTO-owner Oscar Rodriguez\, M.D.\, to introduce his fine Dominican Republic cigars featuring tobacco grown on his estate there. We’re quite confident that the food\, cigar and whisky lineup will afford the partakers an evening to fondly remember.
