SUMMARY:Benromach and Friends
DESCRIPTION:As we didn’t feature any Benromach expressions in 2025 (which is rather embarrassing\, as it is a great single malt)\, we are going to make up for it tonight with three Benromach offerings. \nLet’s begin our tasting with Teaninich 10-Year\, one of my favorites. It comes from a large distillery in the northern Highlands\, situated between Glen Ord and Glenmorangie. \nOur second pour brings us to Benromach with the Optic Barley from its Origins series. \nThe third whisky is Cragganmore 1993 Vintage from MMCD (Murray McDavid)\, a top independent bottler. \nFor the fourth offering\, we return to Benromach with their excellent 10-Year\, this time bottled at 57% ABV (cask strength) rather than the standard 43%. \nOur fifth dram is Kilchoman Sanaig\, a sherry-led\, peated expression from Islay. \nFinally\, we conclude with Benromach once more—this time from the Peat Smoke series. Batch 7\, distilled in 2006\, features malted barley peated to 62 ppm. \nI’m excited about this flight and confident you will be pleasantly surprised.Do bring a friend—good whisky is made great when shared among friends. \n\nWHISKY MENU\n1. SUMMARY:Forever 21+ Whisky Old Enough to Drink Itself
DESCRIPTION:“At Long Last: Whisky and Consumer Age Congruency” I’m not permitted to offer a whisky to a person younger than 21\, so it wouldn’t be proper to offer people over 21 whisky that’s not. Let’s begin with the legendary Campbeltown Loch 25-year-old Blended Scotch. It is reported to be 70% malt whiskies (Ardbeg\, Balvenie\, Glenfarclas\, Glenlivet\, Lochside and Lochside from 1962 to 1972) and 30% grain whiskies (Dumbarton 1962 and Invergordon 1977)\, with the youngest component whisky being at least 25 years old. My favorite Glengoyne is its 21-year-old. Next\, from the home of Teacher’s Highland Cream Blended Scotch (which is circa $25 and 45% malt whiskies)\, Ardmore 25-Year. From Glend Ord Distillery aka The Gorilla of the North (for is 11.9-Mlpa capacity)\, a cask strength 28-year-old. Then it’s on to a Glenburgie 22-year-old at cask strength. Now for a big finish: Bowmore 21-year-old produced in 2004\, matured in fresh Oloroso sherry casks\, and bottled at its cask strength of 56.3% ABV. Join our dramming community\, which eschews EDI while advocating consumer and whisky age congruency. Y’all come. \nThese lovely drams are from the whisky cellar of Dr Raj Maharaj\, the locally acclaimed medical practitioner and explorer of Scotland. \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:Let’s Leap Early
DESCRIPTION:“Let’s Leap Early; Why Wait Until 2028?” Although it would be appropriate to name a whisky after my friend Charlie Maclean\, Scotland’s top whisky writer and whisky expert\, Maclean’s Nose is named after a prominent landmark near the Ardnamurchan Distillery. This blended scotch is the antithesis of Johnnie Walker Black: it is 70% malt whiskies (Ardnamurchan and Glen Scotia) and 30% grain whiskies. Let’s try a Glen Elgin 17-year-old single cask from Signatory. Next\, from the new Nc’Nean distillery in the highlands\, we will give its Organic expression a go. Then we’re onto 2 new releases: Highland Park Heather (Cask Strength range)\, and Springbank 5 Year-Old\, from its Cask Strength range. Ardbeg Smoke trails is its newest GTR (Global Travel Retail aka Duty-Free Shops) exclusive offering\, it’s a 46% ABV’er from a combo of Bourbon HH and Manzanilla Sherry casks… and it’s yummy! Come and see. \nBring a friend and join our dram family. \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:A TASTE OF THE D.R. & SCOTLAND
DESCRIPTION:I’ve Got Thursday On My Mind! You might ask: “What happens when you pair a fine Dominican cigar with the best single malts in the world? One might respond: “Come and see.” La Galera JADE toro is a premium\, medium-bodied Dominican cigar known for its rare African Cameroon wrapper\, offering flavors of cedar\, spice\, brown sugar\, and coffee with a creamy\, peppery finish\, crafted by Jochy Blanco at Tabacalera Palma (Tamboril\, Dominican Republic) with a Criollo binder and Piloto Cubano/Criollo 98 fillers\, providing a rich\, smooth experience. Under Jose “Jochy” Blanco (former SVP of Joya de Nicaragua S.A.)\, the Blanco family owns 5 farms in the Dominican Republic’s Cibao valley. With 600-acres under tobacco cultivation\, Tabacalera Palma has a sufficient supply of grade A tobacco to meet its production needs. While it has historically imported wrapper tobacco from Cameroon\, Mexico\, Nicaraguan\, Sumatra\, and Connecticut\, that’s about to change with the introduction of domestic wrapper grown on the Palma Estate. You will enjoy my 4 single malt selections. The Glenglassaugh 12-Year is GREAT and Oban 14-Year is OUTSTANDING! There’s plenty of parking in the front\, side\, rear and shopping center. SUMMARY:Right Launching 2026
DESCRIPTION:“Right Launching 2026” I selected 3 bottles that I brought back from Scotland to kick off our 2026 tasting year. We’ll start with a dram born on the eastern bank of River Findhorn: Benromach Traditional is a tasty apéritif style single malt\, the perfect first whisky. Moving over to the Flow on the Isle of Orkney\, Scapa Glansa is an interest ‘tween’ dram aged in Bourbon casks and then finished in smaller cask of an Islay origin. Back across the Pentland Firth to Thurso on the northern coast of Scotland\, let’s try Wolfburn Morven\, a lightly peated single malt. Moving to the outskirtsof Glasgow\, you will enjoy the Auchentoshan Silver Oak\, a 1990 vintage 23 Year at 50.7% ABV batch strength. Raj and I really enjoyed it! You ask: But what’s going on in Campbeltown? Springbank offers an ‘Infinity Barrel’ on a fill-your-own-bottle basis. I promptly filled our 58.91% ABV bottle. Now for a big finish: the Lagavulin 12-Year Special Release of 2024 aka Fireside Tales. It’s at 57.4% ABV. \nCome and see. Join our dramming family. \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:MASC’s Christmas/Hanukkah Holiday Event
DESCRIPTION:“Spirits of the Season” What better way to celebrate our holiday season (and Andy Smith’s birthday) than to select 6 bottles from Nick Ahlen’s whisky cellar! Glendronach 21-Year-Old is Parliament. It undergoes maturation in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The “Parliament” name refers to a group of rooks that live near the distillery. Let’s go with an old friend\, Macallan 18-Year-Old should be on Mt Rushmore! I’ve poured M18 many times\, although I’ve noticed its current $350+ pricing. It’s special. And talk about old friends\, Oban 18-Year-Old and Talisker 18-Year-Old are popular calls at every legitimate whisky bar globally. \nHave you noticed that Bunnahabhain has the knack for coming up with some outstanding and unique special releases? Its 2023 Feis Ile release is Coterie Exclusive – Rioja Cask Finish\, a 55.8% ABV cask strength beauty. It was initially matured in bourbon barrels of charred American white oak and then finished in excellent Spanish red wine casks. Now for the big send-off\, we are onto Lagavulin Distiller’s Edition which was double matured in bourbon and PX sherry casks of toasted American white oak. \nAfter you buy your tickets\, please advise of your party’s meal preferences: beef\, chicken\, fish\, or vegetarian. \nDo join us for our holiday tasting and bring a friend\, as “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:Scotch per Martha's Request
DESCRIPTION:“Martha’s Request” Why not have our tasting on November 20th? As I couldn’t think of a reason not to\, that’s our event date. We’ll start with Heart of Speyside\, a terrific aperitif style dram from BenRiach Distillery. I’m over the moon about the new Tullibardine Artisan\, a delicious single malt. From the Harris Distillery on the Isle of Lewis\, The Hearach is a lightly- peated young\, but fully mature single malt. I brought a bottle of the fine Springbank 10 Year back from Scotland\, as it’s seldom been available in Atlanta for 5 years. Tragically so: it’s my go-to dram! Next is The Balvenie 14-Year Peated Triple Cask\, checking in at 48.3% ABV and 30-ppm. I do prefer The Balvenie at 48% ABV or higher as the higher strength assuages its sometimes-excessive sweetness. Our final dram is Smokehead’s top bottling\, High Voltage at 58% ABV without chill-filtration or coloration. Oh\, my\, this is a must have fine value single malt! If this was labeled as Lagavulin\, which is its origin\, it would sell for $180-230 a bottle. So\, do join us and bring a friend\, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” \nJoin our dram family… November 20\, 2025 is a good date! \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:The Twelves
DESCRIPTION:“Twelve Years: Too Old for a Car; Too Young to Vote; Perfect for Dramming” I know someone that is weary of hearing folks utter demeaning and inaccurate things about thesingle malts in the 12-year-old and under category. He/She/They/Them/It may have a valid point. Let’s explore the world of Scotch single malt whisky. \nLoch Lomond 12 Year has received Gold medals at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition for 7 consecutive years (2019-25)\, earning it ‘Hall of Fame’ status. TWSC also awarded LL12 the 2025 Best Value award. Glenglassaugh 12 Year was produced by Billy Walker after his 2008 purchase of the distillery. GG12 was triple matured in bourbon\, sherry\, and red wine casks. I bought the last bottle of Glen Scotia 12 Year at the distillery shop last month. This is the new 12-year core bottling\, as the former 12-year was dropped in 2020. Glenfarclas 12 Year was conventionally matured in Oloroso sherry casks. The casks were toasted (not charred) with the majority being Spanish red oak. Kilkerran 12 Year is a core expression bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtering or artificial coloration. It was made at Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown and couldn’t be called Glengyle as that name is owned by another bottler. Our final dram in Caol Ila 12 Year\, a beautifully balanced Islay single malt. I find it to be an elegant bourbon barrel aged whisky with just the right level of peatiness. \nSo\, do join us and bring a friend\, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” Join our family… \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:Just Back from Scotland
DESCRIPTION:“Back from Scotland” On a monthly basis\, Metro Atlanta Scotch Club(August 2011) conducts an official whisky tasting at an area venue. Typically\, MASC hosts more frequent tasting events\, most of which areopen to our members. Let’s begin with a 10-year-old Dailuaine 43% ABV offering from Gordon & Macphail. The 1852 distillery has evolved into a 5.2 million litres of pure alcohol per year producer. Armorik is the best French single malt. We will taste its Double Maturation\, a 46% bottling. \nHow is Glenrothes 1995 vintage single malt? I bought 3 bottles; this is my last one. Now I urge you to discover Edradour single malt. I’ve chosen its 10-year flagship\, a 43% ABV bottling. GlenAllachie’s 10-year expression will command your attention as it is a batch strength bottling at 57.1% ABV. Our final dram will also be a good one: Lagavulin 12-year\, a 2018 release at 57.8% ABV. \nSo\, do join us and bring a friend\, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” Join our dram family… \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:Scotch with the Jack Smith
DESCRIPTION:NOTE: Due to illness\, the venue has been changed to Goodfellas. \n“Hostess Extraordinaire: Phyllis Smith” Here’s an opportunity to enjoy our fine Scotch whisky lineup in the lovely home of our event hostess\, Phyllis Smith. Even more\, her food selections are always a delight. On the whisky end\, let’s begin with The Deveron 12 from the Macduff Distillery. It’s a tasting apéritif style single malt at an approachable 40% ABV. The fine Dalwhinnie Winter’s Gold is our second dram. It is distilled only during the winter when Dalwhinnie is the coldest distillery in Scotland. Glenfarclas is the winner when the question is what is the best 12-year-old sherried single malt. Come and see. Speaking of sherried whiskies\, none is more sherried than Tamdhu Cask Strength at 58.8% ABV. Literally\, it is the sherry bomb. My favorite Kilchoman is Machir Bay which comes in at 46% ABV and 50-ppm. I finally located the Lagavulin 12-year Special Release for 2024. It is a cask strength expression at 57.4% ABV and 34-38 ppm. This edition has more 1st fill than refill bourbon casks and will require your attention in a delicious manner. \nSo\, do join us and bring a friend\, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” Join our family… \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:The Armchair Tour of Scotland
DESCRIPTION:“An Armchair Tour of Scotland” Our tasting features 3 new releases to our market. Tamnavulin (Whyte & Mackay) is the first up. Its Double Cask begins life in bourbon barrels and is finished in sherry casks. As we seldom see an Auchroisk bottling in our market\, let’s opt for its 10-Year\, a rare 43% ABV dram from Battlehill. Now hear this: Glenglassaugh 12-Year is da bomb! This one exceeded my expectations\, and I bet that it will also pleasantly surprise you\, too. Isle of Arran 14-Year was discontinued in 2019 (rather shocking as it was its best-selling bottling!). The discontinuation occurred alongside the introduction of the distillery’s new core range and the renaming of the distillery to Lochranza (no one calls it Lochranza\, so if you refer to it\, go with the Isle of Arran Distillery version). \nBruichladdich Islay Barley 2014 Edition features barley grown on 8 farms on Islay. Unlike the 2013 Edition which used the Bere (aka Viking) barley variety\, our edition was made from Concerto and Propino barley grown on Islay. Yes\, the last one will demand your attention: Caol Ila 2008 Vintage 8-Year at cask strength 59.5% ABV and peated at 34-38 ppm. It is a Signatory bottling of a single cask selected by Binny’s of Chicago. \nSo\, do join us and bring a friend\, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.”  Join our dram family… \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:Somethings Old\, Somethings New
DESCRIPTION:“Somethings Old\, Somethings New” For those of you that missed our 4/23/25 with IAN PALMER\, you missed one of our best tastings. His North American executive told me that Ian enjoyed his night in Atlanta and hopes to return in the future. Back to May 8th: Let’s begin with a rare official bottling of Teaninich 10-Year 43% ABV from Diageo’s Flora & Fauna collection. As is my wont\, I often pair Teaninich and Dailuaine\, I’ve selected as independent bottling of Dailuaine 10-Year 46% ABV from the Jas. Eadie Whisky Co. Onto the new GlenAllachie 8-Year at 46% ABV. This whisky is alive\, a vibrant malt that has full-flavor as its middle name. My favorite HL malt is Glen Garioch. I have chosen the Founders Reserve NAS bottling at 48% ABV. \nYou will love it! The new Kilkerran 8-Year Cask Strength at 55.8% ABV is a bourbon bomb.  Ranald Watson\, Findlay Ross\, and Gavin McLachlan selected those 8-year casks that had attained full maturity and vatted them together without filtration\, coloration\, or reduction. Our last (but never least) dram is the GREAT Laphroaig Quarter Cask\, a fine NCF expression that comes in at 48% ABV. The quarter casks are 125L which is a quarter of the 500L sherry butt and port pipe casks. \nSo\, do join us and bring a friend\, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” Join our dramming family… \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:Inchdairnie with Ian Palmer
DESCRIPTION:Welcome IAN PAlMER \nlan Palmer\, Founder & Chairman Inch Dairnie Distillery. It is a great honor to welcome “Ian Palmer\, Distillery Legend” to MASC! \nI’ve been aware of lan Palmer and his contributions to the Scotch whisky industry for many years. In particular\, the state-of-the-art systems and equipment that he designed and implemented at Starlaw Grain Distillery and took to the next level at InchDairnie. So\, I was delighted to learn from Scott Fraser\, the Group’s North American executive\, that lan was coming to town= and available to present his whisky to MASC. \nIAN PALMER\, FOUNDER & CHAIRMAN: Inch Dairnie Distillery is the brainchild of lan Palmer who had a vision of building a distillery with equipment that is modern and innovative\, and capable of reaching flavors not normally accessible. lan designed the distillery together with the construction company Colorado Group and even designed the Lomond Hill still\, used for precision distilling. With over 40 years of experience in the whisky industry\, lan has been  integral to the process of converting a green field site to a distillery of its time and has been key to the flavor research and development in the different whiskies engineered and distilled at InchDairnie Distillery. lan has worked as Ops Manager at Invergordon Distillery and Group Distilling Manager for all the distilleries in the Whyte & Mackay portfolio including Dalmore\, Jura\, Bruichladdich\, Fettercairn and Tamnavulin. lan is also responsible for building Starlaw grain distillery for French group La Martiniquaise. \nWe will have plenty of food\, so you won’t be looking for dinner before or after our event. So\, do join us and bring a friend\, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” \nPlease purchase a ticket online\, as sales will be cutoff at 50 (fifty). SUMMARY:Cotswolds Whisky
DESCRIPTION:“Cotswolds Conquers Continents” We have featured Cotswolds Single Malts at many of our monthly events. It’s very good whisky! How good? My contact person for 2 private tastings specifically asked me to include Cotswolds Reserve and/or Founder’s Choice. It is that good and the word is out. I was quite taken back with Daniel Szor asked me if he could lead a Cotswolds Single Malt tasting for Metro Atlanta Scotch Club. \nI’m pleased to introduce Daniel to you here and I do hereby personally invite you to join us for the Cotswolds Tasting on March 26 (Wednesday) at 7PM. We will have plenty of food (GoodFellas pizza and fried shrimp)\, so you won’t be looking for dinner before or after our event. So\, do join us and bring a friend\, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” \nPlease kindly purchase a ticket online\, as sales will be cutoff at 50 (fifty). If you find it necessary to pay at the door\, please call me to see if there is availability: Jack (678) 733-4757. \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:The Winter Worries Wane With Whisky
DESCRIPTION:“Winter Worries Wane With Whisky” Let’s test this theorem with a whisky experiment. By the time we complete the sixth stage of this experiment\, I believe that you won’t be thinking about the weather. We haven’t featured one of better aperitif drams in 4 years\, so it’s time to call on Benromach Traditional single malt. From the Glenburgie Distillery\, let’s try the 15- year from the Ballantine’s SM Series. The most recent Deanston elixir that we tasted was\nalso in 2021. I’ve selected its 12-year-old which is a tasty 46.3% ABV whisky that is finished for several weeks in toasted virgin oak casks. Dailuaine is among the most underrated distilleries in Speyside. \nAlthough the same size as the well-known Glenfarclas and Glen Grant distilleries\, only a tiny portion of its single malt is bottled as such. Why? Because Diageo uses most of its output for blending Johnnie Walker\, White Horse\, and Old Parr. Let’s go with a cask strength 52% ABV 11-year-old from the good folks at Battlehill. Over my 14-year Atlanta residence\, I’ve notice that the most popular SM are Oban and Talisker. We will give Talisker Storm a go. Now for a big ending with the star of the show being Ardbeg Heavy Vapours. I’ve chosen the Committee Release at or about cask strength (50.2% ABV). Apparently\, they have extended the lower cut as the heavier phenols are in the 62% to 58% ABV end of the run. \nThus\, they have cut to feints a bit later than their standard point. I am quite happy with this flight and hopeful that it will create synergies whereby the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. So\, do join us and bring a friend\, because “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” \nWHISKY MENU \n1. SUMMARY:Christmas/Hanukkah High-end Tasting
DESCRIPTION:To Help You Get Into The Holiday Spirit! Our whisky flight features some older bottlings (2 @ 21\, 1 @ 18\, 1 @ 15-Years) and some excellent limited edition expressions without an age statement. Imperial is a 21-year Speyside at 46% ABV. As GlenDronach was mothballed for 6- years (1996-2002)\, they have temporarily run our Parliament 21-year\, but Tom Lobonc has a bottle for us! In 2019\, Highland Park released Loki as the 2nd edition in its Valhalla range. Is it good? It is selling for £500 at Masters of Malt. Arran’s Angels & Devils (Punch Bowl range\, Chapter II) is a cask strength flavor bomb. \nMalts finished in manzanilla casks pique my interest\, when it is a Bowmore\, I am all in. Being the first release in Bowmore’s Vintner’s Trilogy\, Manzanilla Cask will be a very good one. Our Ardbeg Drum is the 2019 Committee Release at cask strength 52% ABV. This one is finished in another personal favorite cask type: Caribbean Rum casks. And it worked to the point that Ardbeg’s phenols nicely offset the sweetness of the rum casks. The result is delicious! \nSo do come and consider inviting your friends as “good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” Here is to happier holidays and holiday spirits. \nWHISKY: 1 Speyside\, 1 Highland\, 2 Island\, 2 Islay \n1. SUMMARY:Happy Scotchgiving
DESCRIPTION:ScotchGiving: Yes\, it is the let’s be thankful season. I’m thankful for 3 good\nJapanese whiskies and 3 nice single malt Scotch whiskies from the Scottish islands\nof Islay and Jura. Takamine (Kyushu Island\, Japan) is a single malt based on a 100%\nmalted barley mashbill which is fermented with koji-yeast (with conventional\ndistiller’s yeast being added in the later stages). Miyagikyo is a single malt\nproduced by Nikka/Asahi on Honshu Island\, Japan. Our Fuji selection is a 50:50\nmalt to grain whiskies\, a quite high ratio making it a premium blend. I like\nBruichladdich’s Link Series\, Turnberry 14Yr was released in 2005. After 19 years\,\nthe remaining bottles are getting quite expensive. Jura Seven Wood is a 42% ABV\nsingle malt initially matured in an ex-bourbon barrel (1st fill) and then split into 6\ntranches and filled to French oak casks (toasted) of 6 different types of oak. And\nthis one will command your attention: Ardbeg Corryvreckan is the bourbon barrelaged\ncask strength 57% ABV big brother of the Ardbeg Uigeadail\, an Oloroso\nsherry-aged 54% ABV. Both are great! SUMMARY:Liz’s Lowlander Launch - Bladnoch Single Malt
DESCRIPTION:Liz’s Lowlander Launch – Bladnoch Single Malt: In 2021\, Chuck\, Raj\, and I had the pleasure of visiting the lovely newly-rebuilt BLADNOCH Distillery by the Scottish Borders. Is Bladnoch a good malt? It’s a great dram\, as evidence by my expenditure of $900 for 3 special releases! So\, I’m looking forward to our Bladnoch event. \nLet’s start the evening with Bladnoch Vinaya which was conventionally aged in a combination of bourbon or sherry casks for its full maturation. It was bottled at 46.7% ABV\, non-chill-filtered\, and no coloration added. Samsara is aged for about 11-years (although no age guarantee is recorded on its label) in Bourbon and red wine casks. It’s also 46.7% ABV and NCF. Next up is Alinta\, a peated dram from PX sherry and bourbon casks. This one comes in at 47% ABV and is NCF. \nLiora is Bladnoch’s first core expression at cask strength. After maturation in new oak and bourbon casks\, it was bottled at 52.2% ABV without reduction. We will wind things up with 2 aged statement expressions. The 11-Year was aged exclusively in fresh bourbon barrels of charred American white oak and bottled at 46.7% ABV without filtration or coloration. Its 14- Year was matured in Oloroso sherry casks for its full maturation and then bottled at 46.7% ABV on a NCF and NCA basis\, all being best practices. Do come and bring a good friend to chat with Liz Espy and enjoy the whisky creations of Nick Savage\, Ph.D. (Engr)\, and David Prior\, the owner of Bladnoch Distillery. \nMay I suggest: Don’t miss this one! \nWHISKY MENU: 6 Lowland Single Malt Scotch Whiskies \n1. SUMMARY:A Summer's Swan Song Soiree
DESCRIPTION:As the Scotch calendar lists September-thru-March as the unofficial whisky season\, let’s have a dandy pre-season dramming session. \nWaterford’s The Cuvée is a vatting of 25 of its organic Irish single malts\, each of the expressions was based on the crop of a single farm with each farm’s soil type agroecologically paired with the ideal Irish heirloom barley variety. \nPrichard’s is a top-tier American craft distillery. We will try its American single malt. What’s my favorite 13-Yr single malt? That would be Craigellachie. \nAwesome\, a must have! Suntory Global’s malt master and I were once asked our favorite Beam-Suntory (now Suntory Global) single malt: we both answered Glen Garioch\, thus forsaking Ardmore\, Auchentoshan\, Bowmore and Laphroaig). \nFettercairn is the most disrespected Highland single malt. Let’s work on correcting that injustice. SUMMARY:Leap Year Day 2024
DESCRIPTION:“Leap into March” – A Leap-Year-Day Tasting Dinner \nOur whisky menu is quite promising and our soup/salad/entrée/desert at the new GoodFellas Bar & Grill will be delicious. We will begin our whisky flight with the 1990 vintage Glencadam 20-Year from Gordon & Macphail (1895). \nFettercairn offers a unique taste profile that’s just right for our second pour: the 1997 vintage )19-Year) single cask from MMCD (Murray McDavid). Our third and featured whisky is Bladnoch 26-Year\, its 2020 limited ‘distillery exclusive’ release. It’s a real cracker that I’m sure you will enjoy. \nI have an on-going internal debate which Dalmore core expression is better: Dalmore Cigar Malt or 1263 King Alexander III. For this event\, I’ve landed on Dalmore Cigar Malt. It was created decades ago to accompany fine cigars (no smoking at our event). Thankfully\, it was bottled at the decent strength of 44% ABV. \nBen Nevis is my nominee as the most underrated great single malt that you will ever have the pleasure of discovering. It offers an array of rich sherry flavors and will pair up well with our previous pour. GlenAllachie Lum Reek is a lightly peaked blended malt (GlenAllachie & BenRiach) that really works whereas Lagavulin\, our final dram\, affords a power arsenal of maritime flavors. \nDo please join us and bring a friend: “Good whisky is made great when shared among friends.” \nWHISKY MENU: \n1. SUMMARY:Whisky and Aganorsa Cigars
DESCRIPTION:INTRODUCING PAUL WALKER… Aganorsa’s GA Executive & Our Seminar Leader.  As every day the reputation of AGANORSA LEAF spreads\, Aganorsa continues to be dedicated to educating cigar aficionados regarding the unique taste and aroma that give our tobacco its signature flavors. During this seminar\, you will have the chance to taste components of our blends to experience how each tobacco contributes to the whole cigar and appreciate what makes Aganorsa Leaf unique from all other tobaccos. \nAND THERE’S MORE… Each attendee will receive 2 fumas (a cigar made for the workers\, not available as such retail) in the form of a Aganorsa corojo Churchill (7×47) and an Aganorsa Anniversario Robusto 5×52 (Corojo or Maduro\, depending on your preference). \nAND EVEN MORE… Each attendee will have the opportunity to pair the tasty Aganorsa cigars with 4 pours of quality whisk(e)y: MACALLAN 12 single malt\, MICHTER’S US1 Rye\, HIGHLAND PARK 12 single malt\, and WHISTLEPIG 10 Rye. \nSo… do please join us and do also bring a friend as “good whisky is made great when enjoyed among friends.” \nAganorsa Leaf is an absolute powerhouse in the cigar industry. Producing some of the best tobacco in the game with some old school Cuban techniques. Being utilized in some of the most popular blends only adds to their credibility. According to Eduardo Fernandez\, the Aganorsa Leaf is what happens when you combine Cuban seeds that are cultivated by Cuban farmers in the rich fertile soils of Nicaragua.  And\, the Aganorsa Leaf Validación Connecticut (formerly known as Casa Fernandez Aganorsa Connecticut) is a prime example of this unique combination. With its exquisite Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper and exclusive Aganorsa Leaf Nicaraguan binder and filler\, the Aganorsa Leaf Validación Connecticut is one premium cigar you will want to keep in your regular rotation. The cigars undergo a rigorous quality control process before they are finally released. They call it “Validación\,” which is Spanish for validation or validating. So\, when they decided to release their own blends under the Aganorsa brand\, we got a little excited to say the least. \nWHISKY MENU: 2 American Rye & 2 Scotch Single Malt Whiskies \n1.
